Saharanpur MP Imran Masood was earlier in Congress. Before the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Imran Masood made controversial remarks against Narendra Modi, after which his period of political exile began. First Imran lost the Saharanpur Lok Sabha elections in 2014 and then the assembly elections in 2017. Masood could not win even in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
Masood joined the Samajwadi Party before the 2022 elections, but here the Samajwadi Party did not give him the ticket. After this he went to BSP, but there too he did not get success. Masood returned to Congress before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. In 2024, with the support of India Alliance, Masood was successful in winning the Saharanpur seat.

1. On July 13, Imran Masood in a statement hinting at Akhilesh Yadav said that he does not like Muslim leaders. Imran Masood further said that Samajwadi Party needs alliance more. In 2024, only because of the alliance, SP was able to win 37 Lok Sabha seats.
2. On June 22, Imran Masood, while targeting the SP chief, said that Akhilesh Yadav sees the issue of Ram Temple, but does not see the issue of atrocities on Muslims. SP only knows how to take votes from Muslims.

Imran Masood is an old leader of Uttar Pradesh. For a long time he has done his politics in Congress only. He knows the way of working and discipline in Congress.
