A case has come to light from Russia which has surprised people. Generally, police and security agencies keep an eye on vehicles, parcels and suspicious people to stop drug smuggling. But this time the smugglers adopted a method which no one would have ever thought of. To carry out his work, he made an innocent cat a means of delivering drugs. However, his ploy could not last long and the jail vigilance exposed the entire conspiracy.
This incident took place in Correctional Colony No. 17 of Nizhny Novgorod city of Russia. The jail security personnel were doing their regular surveillance. Meanwhile, his eyes fell on a cat, which was slowly moving towards the jail premises. At first glance she appeared to be like other stray cats, but the security staff noticed something different about her neck.

After looking carefully, it was found that two collars made of cloth were tied around the neck of the cat. Usually a stray cat does not have such collars around its neck, so the security personnel immediately became suspicious. Without any delay, he caught the cat safely, removed both the collars tied around his neck and started examining him. As soon as the collars were opened, the shocking truth was revealed to the officials. Banned narcotics were hidden inside the collar.
After this, considering the seriousness of the matter, a sniffer dog was also called. During investigation, it became clear that drugs were actually kept inside the collar and they were hidden very cleverly so that no one could easily suspect. In the initial investigation, it is believed that the smugglers’ plan was to deliver these narcotics to the prisoners lodged inside the jail. He might have assumed that no one would pay much attention to a cat. The cat can easily reach the jail premises by moving along the walls, between bushes and through small spaces.
Perhaps for this reason the criminals planned to use an animal in place of humans, but their ploy could not survive the vigilance of the jail administration. The security personnel caught the cat in time and recovered the drugs before they could reach inside the jail. If the cat had gone into the premises without being stopped, it is possible that the drugs would have reached their destination. Russia’s Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) said that after finding the drugs, first care was taken to ensure that the cat does not suffer any kind of injury.
His health checkup was done and it was ensured that he was completely safe. He was released after the investigation was completed. The officials clearly said that the cat was not at fault in this entire incident. Only criminals used it for their own selfish gains. Now the police and jail administration are together investigating this entire network. Officials are trying to find out who prepared the cat, who tied the collar around its neck and to which prisoner inside the jail these drugs were to be delivered. Besides, it is also being investigated how many people were involved in this conspiracy and whether similar attempts had been made earlier also.
