The ruling party Jammu Kashmir National Conference has announced to protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on July 20, demanding restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. Party President Dr. Farooq Abdullah has sent letters to 52 personalities to participate in this demonstration, but all the political parties of Jammu and Kashmir origin have decided to stay away from the demonstration. At the same time, most of the political parties have given the National Conference the option to participate in this protest as per their desired conditions. According to experts, Omar Abdullah is now seen feeling alone on this demand for statehood.
Jammu and Kashmir As soon as the letter was received, Apni Party made it clear in a press conference in Srinagar and alleged that the ruling party National Conference is ignoring the development of Jammu and Kashmir under the guise of statehood, whereas for development, statehood is not required, but the funds that are available. That too is now lapsing due to their conspiracy and he will not become a partner in the conspiracy hatched by this statehood.
Political parties stayed away from the demonstration
An invitation letter has also been sent by the National Conference President to separatist leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, although the National Conference has clarified that it has sent the letter to him in his capacity as a religious leader and president of Majlis-e-Mutahida Ulema. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, while giving his condition in response to this letter, said that this demonstration should not be only on statehood, but this should be a campaign for the restoration of special status Section 370, 35A and acquittal of all political prisoners.
Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference President Sajad Lone has also been sent an invitation letter by National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah, but according to Sajad Lone, National Conference wants to bring this issue from Parliament to the streets and this demonstration from Jantar Mantar will become BJP versus opposition, which is not good for Jammu and Kashmir. At the same time, Azad alleges that in the name of this statehood protest, the National Conference seems to be trying to bury Articles 370 and 35A.
PDP put a condition before National Conference
PDP President Mehbooba Mufti has also received an invitation letter from Dr Farooq Abdullah to protest at Jantar Mantar demanding statehood. First in hushed words and finally openly, PDP has also agreed to participate in this demonstration without any conditions, but has kept a condition. Mehbooba Mufti wrote a reply letter to Farooq Abdullah saying that she will participate in this demonstration on the condition that this demonstration should also be on the restoration of Article 370 and the release of political prisoners.

BJP will protest, promises to support Congress
BJP MP Sat Sharma has also received the invitation letter from Farooq Abdullah, but BJP has called for gheraoing the Government Secretariat on July 20 in protest against the National Conference in Srinagar. According to BJP, this demonstration is against the job scam in the name of outsourcing by Jammu and Kashmir National Conference.
Although the National Conference has not yet received permission from Delhi Police to go to Jantar Mantar, but according to Omar Abdullah, Vice President of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference and Chief Minister of UT, if they do not get permission there, then they will definitely try to raise their voice at some other place by any means.
The President of Jammu and Kashmir Congress unit has only agreed to support Omar Abdullah, but the original demands of Congress were never restoration of Article 370 and 35A, rather their demand was to give statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. Now it will be interesting to see whether Omar Abdullah, rejected by his own people, is able to bring outside political parties into this protest or not?
