The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led ruling NDA coalition at the Center is known for its new and unique beginnings. The name of NDA’s parliamentary meeting group has been changed. Now it has been named Mangal Milan. Earlier, during the tenure of PM Narendra Modi led NDA government, names of many important things like Prime Minister’s residence and Rajpath have been changed.
This meeting usually takes place on Tuesday during the Parliament session. Now the first meeting with its new name Mangal Milan is going to be held on 21st July. This meeting of the NDA parliamentary party will be held on Tuesday (July 21) at 9:30 am in the Parliament House. During this meeting, Prime Minister Modi will also address NDA MPs.
Name of PM residence changed
Earlier, the name of Race Course Road, the official residence of the Prime Minister, was changed during the first term of the Modi-led NDA government. In September 2016, Race Course Road was renamed as Lok Kalyan Marg. The official residence of the Prime Minister is spread over an area of about 12 acres.
Similarly, the name of the historic Rajpath was changed during the second term of the Modi government. This road built during the British Raj was called ‘Kingsway’ in honor of King George V, but after independence it came to be called ‘Rajpath’, but the Modi government changed the name of Rajpath to ‘Kartavya Path’ in September 2022.
Central Secretariat now duty building
The name of the Central Secretariat was changed in the third term of the Modi government. In February this year, the Central Government renamed the Central Secretariat as Dutva Bhavan. While the nearby South Block (which also houses the PMO office) was named ‘Seva Teerth’.
There are offices of many important government departments in Dutva Bhavan. Earlier this office used to be in Shastri Bhawan and Nirman Bhawan. But under the modernly designed Central Vista Redevelopment Project, Dutta Bhavan has now become the common address of all these departments.
