
Congress leader Meenakshi Natarajan did not get relief today in the case of cancellation of Rajya Sabha nomination. The Supreme Court refused to hear on Thursday and said that come tomorrow, we will hear tomorrow. Meenakshi’s petition was mentioned before a two-member bench headed by Justice Prashant Kumar. The Congress leader has demanded a stay on the order of cancellation of nomination by the Returning Officer. Senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi told the bench that there is a need to immediately intervene in the matter and issue instructions.
He cited Section 33A of the RP Act. At the same time, Mukul Rohatgi raised objection on behalf of the returning officer. At present the Supreme Court has not given any order. Today is the last date for the nomination process, which Singhvi also cited. Singhvi said that the court has neither taken cognizance nor framed charges. Justice Prashant Kumar said that the law is clear and there is a lot of clarity in the Ashok Kumar case. Come tomorrow and let us hear.
