
Manoj Jarange Patil, the leading face of the Maratha reservation movement in Maharashtra, has called a meeting of the community at Antarwali Sarathi in Jalna district on July 29. He has sent this message to his supporters and asked them to reach Antarwali Sarathi by 10:00 am. Therefore, everyone’s eyes are on what decision Manoj Jarange Patil takes regarding the Maratha reservation movement in this meeting.
Manoj Jarange recently visited Jantar Mantar in Delhi, where he met Cockroach Janata Party founder Abhijit Deepke and announced support for the movement. After this, he called upon the Maratha community to hold a rally on July 29. Jarange had earlier demanded reservation for the Kunbi community under the Other Backward Class (OBC) category and had also gone on a hunger strike to get this demand met. Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil met them on behalf of the government and said that the administration is positive towards their demands.
What will actually be decided in the meeting?
Manoj Jarange Patil has called a meeting of Maratha community members at Antarwali Sarathi on July 29. His team has sent messages about this meeting to members of the Maratha community across the state. It is expected that the future direction of Jarange Patil’s movement will be decided in the meeting to be held on 29th July. According to sources, the meeting will start at 11 am in Antarwali Sarathi.
Had a hunger strike demanding Maratha reservation
In May 2026, Jarange had launched a hunger strike in the scorching heat of Antarwali Sarathi village in Jalna district, demanding Maratha reservation. Their demands included issuing Kunbi certificates to those people for whom 58 lakh records were found. He insisted that these certificates should be validated. These should be reviewed every 15 days by the Divisional Commissioner, and action should be taken against any officer failing to issue certificates for the 58 lakh records identified. During the hunger strike, he had put forward these demands through minister Radhakrishna Patil.
