Calling it the saddest day in cricket history, Gavaskar said that Sobers was the greatest cricketer to ever walk on earth. Sachin Tendulkar refreshed the memories of the 2003 World Cup when Sir Gary handed him the ‘Player of the Tournament’ trophy. Sir Garfield Sobers was considered a benchmark of the role of all-rounder on the cricket field.
