Investors who invest money in the stock market are today keeping an eye on LIC Housing Finance. The June quarter results of this leading housing finance company of the country are going to come today. But, even before these results came, something happened in the market which increased the heartbeats of the investors. As soon as the market opened today, selling in the company’s shares started and the stock fell sharply. Some people did buy at the lower level, but the stock could not recover completely. .
What is the reason for the decline of shares?
Currently, this share has fallen by 2.35 percent to ₹ 540.60 on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). During the day’s trading, it fell by 3.04 percent to ₹ 536.60. Now the question arises that why is the stock falling before the results? Actually, there is an important meeting of the company’s board today, in which the results of April-June will be approved.
Market experts fear that due to increasing yield (interest) on bonds, it is becoming increasingly expensive for companies to take loans from the market. Along with this, there is strong competition among companies in the home loan market. Both these things can have a direct impact on the company’s profit i.e. Net Interest Margin (NIM). This fear of pressure on profits is forcing investors to sell shares. Apart from this, the company has not given any clear information regarding dividend, due to which there is some confusion in the market.
How was the report card of the last quarter?
If we talk about the last quarter i.e. March, LIC Housing Finance had done very good work. During the last quarter (January to March) of the financial year 2026, the total profit of the company jumped by about 8.68 percent on an annual basis to reach ₹ 1,492.54 crore. This benefit was achieved because the cost of lending had reduced and the company’s operations remained stable.
However, during that period there was also a slight decline in the company’s total earnings. The company’s revenue had declined by 1.25 percent to ₹ 7,211.92 crore. At the same time, if we talk about operating profit (EBITDA), there was a slight decrease of 0.13 percent and it came to ₹ 6,748.61 crore.
Investors saw big ups and downs in one year
In the last one year, this stock has given big shocks to the investors. Exactly a year ago, i.e. on July 30, 2025, this share was priced at ₹ 600.00 on BSE. This was the highest level (record high) in one year for its shares. But, after reaching this height the stock could not survive. After this, there was such a period of decline in the stock that within 8 months it fell by 23.49 percent. This year, on March 23, 2026, the share fell to ₹ 459.05, which is its lowest level in one year (record low).
