During this, he shared his old memories with actress Rekha and told that their friendship had started even before films. Hema said that she saw Rekha for the first time when she was very young and used to come to Chennai to learn dance.
Hema Malini told that at that time she was learning Bharatanatyam in Chennai and was also taking training in Kuchipudi. She learned dance from Guru Vempati Chinna Satyam. Her film ‘Sapno Ka Saudagar’ had been released, but along with films, she also used to perform dance on stage. He said that dance has always been an important part of his life and it is still there today.

Rekha and Hema knew each other before films
Hema further told that whenever she went to dance class, Rekha also used to come there. At that time the lines were very short. Smiling, he said that Guruji often used to say that “This girl runs away after leaving the rehearsal, it is very difficult to catch her.” According to Hema, Rekha was very mischievous and playful in her childhood.
Gave a dance performance together
Referring to an old dance performance, he said that Guruji had prepared a dance ballet based on the story of Krishna, Rukmini and Satyabhama. In this, Rekha played the role of Narada Muni. Hema said that Rekha looked very cute in the costume of Narada Muni and she gave a brilliant performance. At that time he had no idea that this little girl would later become such a big star of Hindi films.

Hema Malini told that later when both of them worked together in the film ‘Gora Aur Kaala’, they refreshed these memories of their dance class days. He said that during that time both of them talked a lot and today their relationship is very deep. According to Hema, today she and Rekha are very close to each other like sisters.
