Government’s big step to reform NTA, 4 GM level officers will be appointed

National Testing Agency (NTA) has taken major steps towards institutional strengthening. NTA has issued advertisement for appointments on contract basis to 4 senior posts of General Manager level. The initial appointment to these posts will be for 3 years. The General Manager of Assessment Research and Development and Psychometrics will be responsible for research related to examination and assessment.

This includes work on question bank, normalization and AI based examination technology. The General Manager of Test Center Network and Operations will be responsible for the network of examination centers in more than 500 cities across the country.

Chief Information Security Officer will be appointed

Under this post, the quality, facilities and examination conduct of the examination centers will be monitored. To the General Manager of Information Security NTA Chief Information Security Officer will be made. This officer will be responsible for the cyber security of all systems, networks and data of NTA.

The General Manager of Vigilance, Investigation and Digital Forensics will be responsible for investigating cases like irregularities and cheating in examinations. On this post, coordination will also be done with CBI, IB, ED, Police and Cyber ​​Crime Unit.

Will hire 16 young professionals

For the first time, NTA will appoint 16 young professionals through UPSC’s Pratibha Setu portal. These appointments will be made from among the candidates who appeared in the Civil Services Examination and are available on the Pratibha Setu portal. There will be 12 posts for Academic Research, 2 posts for Legal Research and 2 posts for Finance and Accounts.

Young professionals will be appointed initially for 24 months, which can be extended up to a maximum of 36 months based on performance. There will be further recruitment and new paneling of experts in different fields in NTA.

This entire process is a step taken towards strengthening NTA based on the recommendations of the High Level Committee headed by Prof. K. Radhakrishnan. NTA has also issued a separate Expression of Interest for new paneling of subject experts and translators.
