‘Government wanted to crush the voice of youth…’ Tharoor said – Bill brought in haste, government will answer today

July 28, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has made a big attack on the Modi government during his address in the Parliament regarding ‘Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026’. He said that the Modi government first wanted to crush the voice of students and youth. But when the throne started shaking, the government hastily brought this bill. He said that the government had brought this bill earlier also. All kinds of provisions were mentioned and now again there has been talk of forming a committee and fast track court.

Shashi Tharoor said that imagine – the government could not even send the CBI lawyer in the hearing of this case. However, the condition of fast track courts running in the country is also not good. But the government is presenting PM Modi’s announcement as if it is happening for the first time. Tharoor said that amidst all this the youth have shown that they are aware. The protesting students had the Constitution in their hands and the slogan of Inquilab Zindabad on their lips. He told that in democracy the real king is the people.

The Congress MP said that when the future of the country came out on the streets, they showed that this is the 12-year report card of the Modi government, where the education system and exam system is in ruins. But the way the government handled these youth was barbaric. The government dealt with the students so harshly, which is extremely shameful. The government should have talked to the students.

Government will answer today

The government will respond on Wednesday to the allegations made by the opposition in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. It is not yet clear who will respond on behalf of the government. But it is believed that she will respond to the paper leak bill imposed by the opposition and the lathicharge on students. Earlier on Tuesday, BJP MP Anurag Thakur in the Lok Sabha made a big attack on opposition leader Rahul Gandhi and Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi. Not only this, he also targeted SP supremo Akhilesh Yadav. Anurag Thakur said that the opposition leaders are doing politics under the guise of student movement.

On whose orders was the lathicharge on children: Priyanka Gandhi

During her address in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi asked the government on whose orders the lathi charge on children took place, the entire country wants the answer to this. The public has elected MPs for their service and accountability. The students’ demand was that action should be taken against those responsible for the paper leak, the education mafia should be removed, the minister should resign and action should be taken against those responsible for the lathicharge and an apology should be taken. But the government remained silent. Taking aim at PM Modi, he said that the Prime Minister will have to change not the angle of the camera but the angle of the heart. Priyanka said that the people of the country are demanding accountability from the government, but they are not getting the answer.

Saved the Prime Minister by removing Pradhanji

During his address in the Lok Sabha, Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav targeted the government. He said that the government does not give promises. During the students’ demonstration after the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan, slogans were raised that the government bows, we need someone to bow. He said, the youth knows how to bow. Crores of youth were demanding that Dharmendra Pradhan resign. Dharmendra Pradhan is no longer a minister, when he returned to the House he was welcomed, we have no problem with the welcome. But the Prime Minister was saved by removing Pradhan ji.

The entire system of the government has failed: Owaisi

Speaking in Parliament on ‘Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026’, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi targeted the government. He said that the government has lost touch with the youth. He called it shameful that the Air Force had to be used to deliver the examination papers. Questioning the efficiency of the Special Task Force, he said that the entire system of the government has failed. Owaisi said that paper leaks happen when biometric systems fail.

PM Modi cleaned the entire system

Shiv Sena MP in Lok Sabha Shrikant Shinde targeted the opposition’s protest outside the Prime Minister’s residence on July 20. Srikanth said that the opposition had the illusion that the protesters would join them, but it did not happen. During the discussion in the Lok Sabha on the Anti Paper Leak Bill, he said that we consider the anger of the youth not as a movement but as the beginning of change in the system. He said that the Modi government has only done the work of cleaning the entire system after the incidents of paper leaks.

Rahul Gandhi is struggling with political FOMO

During the discussion on the anti-leak bill in the Lok Sabha, BJP MP Tejashwi Surya attacked the opposition. He also used the terminology Gen-Z a lot. Surya targeted Rahul Gandhi’s decision to protest near the Prime Minister’s residence. Tejasvi Surya said, when students were protesting, Rahul Gandhi was struggling with political FOMO (fear of missing something). They did not know where to go, because they were seeing that other people were gaining more headlines. As a result, he went and sat directly in front of the Prime Minister’s residence. Which in a way was the ignorance of Rahul Gandhi and the people sitting there with him.

BJP MP Anurag Thakur surrounded Rahul

BJP MP in Lok Sabha Anurag Thakur while targeting Rahul Gandhi said that we do not show off like Congress. Everyone knows why Rahul Gandhi is so worried about this issue. After failing to enter the Prime Minister’s residence, he lay down just outside it. Referring to the old incidents of paper leak, he said that Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav have now come out to protest after getting many exam papers leaked. He said that we have brought this amendment bill to secure the future of the youth of the country.
