
A day after the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) called off its agitation at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar following Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation over irregularities in the NEET (UG) exam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday announced that a ‘high-powered task force’ will be formed under the leadership of Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani for exam reforms in India.

Nandan Nilekani is the co-founder of Infosys.
Nandan Nilekani is an industrialist and technical expert. He is the co-founder and non-executive chairman of Infosys Limited. Along with this, he was the founding chairman of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
In 1981, he co-founded Infosys with NR Narayana Murthy and five others. He served as its CEO from 2002 to 2007 and was brought back as non-executive chairman in 2017 to stabilize the company after a major boardroom shakeup.
Nilekani is called the architect of Aadhar
Between 2009 and 2014, he held a cabinet minister rank role as the head of UIDAI. He is credited with creating India’s largest biometric ID scheme, Aadhaar, which is considered the world’s largest social identity project.
He has promised to donate half of his wealth to humanity. Notably, in 2023, he donated $38 million to his alma mater, IIT Bombay, to enhance tech research and infrastructure.
Focus on basic and primary education
He is the co-founder of the eGov Foundation (focused on improving urban governance through software) and EkStep, a non-profit platform providing open digital infrastructure for basic education and primary education. Fifth note of musical scale
He has written several books on India’s development, including Imagining India and Rebooting India. In 2006, he was awarded the Padma Bhushan, India’s third highest civilian award, for his major contribution to the country’s economic and technological progress.
