July 20, 2026 by Uma Shankar

The Supreme Court expressed displeasure over YouTuber’s irresponsible allegations against judges. The Supreme Court said that arbitrary allegations of corruption can ruin the career of judges. The bench of Justices Dipankar Dutta and Sheel Nagu made this comment while considering the petition of YouTuber Gulshan Pahuja. The Supreme Court told YouTuber Gulshan Pahuja that you accuse judicial officers of corruption without any evidence. You tarnish the image of judicial officers and you know what effect it has on social media.

The Supreme Court said that the entire career of a judicial officer is at stake. The Supreme Court said that judicial officers will have to live with this problem. Pahuja was recently sentenced to 6 months in jail by the Delhi High Court for contempt of court. Because he had made derogatory remarks against the judiciary in his YouTube video.

Pahuja told the Supreme Court today that his only objective is to fight judicial corruption. And he has not targeted any judge personally.

These allegations can have far reaching consequences

The Supreme Court responded that although it sympathized with them, allegations of judicial corruption should not be made casually without any evidence. The Supreme Court made it clear that baseless corruption allegations can have far-reaching consequences, especially in the age of social media. However, Pahuja surrendered during the hearing of this petition. In view of this development, the Supreme Court today said that now the hearing on the petition has become ineffective.

In May this year, the Delhi High Court convicted Pahuja of criminal contempt of court and imposed six months’ jail and a fine of Rs 2,000. He had made derogatory comments about the judiciary in his videos and during debates in the court.
