CBI is investigating the paper leak case

The case is being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which has alleged that the accused were part of a larger network involved in leaking NEET UG question papers before the exam. Earlier this month, the same court had allowed accused Yash Yadav to appear for the NEET UG 2026 re-exam while in judicial custody.

Politics in paper leak case

The court said that the right to education cannot be denied merely because a person is an accused, especially when the trial is not over yet. Therefore, after the National Testing Agency (NTA) issued the admit card to Yadav and raised no objection to his request, he was allowed to take the exam with police escort.

During the investigation, the CBI has alleged that accused Manisha Waghmare acted as a link between students and parents who were willing to pay money for access to the leaked question papers and Dhananjay Lokhande, one of the alleged key facilitators. Meanwhile, the government is being continuously attacked by the opposition in the paper leak case and the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is being demanded.
