
An iron rod of the tent set up at Bannu School ground here for the proposed program of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi fell on Thursday, due to which a Congress worker died. Congress state unit vice president Suryakant Dhasmana confirmed the incident and said that the accident happened in the evening when party worker Amar Mehta (65) was standing under the tent and supervising the arrangements and during this time the iron rod of the tent fell on him.
He told that Amar Mehta suffered serious head injury in the accident. He was immediately taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Rahul Gandhi’s Students’ Echo program is proposed on Friday at Bannu School grounds, where he will interact with students on various issues including question paper leak.
