MPs from opposition parties also demonstrated in Parliament on Friday. Congress and other opposition parties raised slogans against the Modi government in the Parliament complex. They are adamant on the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. On the other hand, the protest by Cockroach Janata Party is also continuing at Jantar Mantar. CJP Founder Abhijeet Dipke has said that our protest will continue till Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation.
Cockroach Janata Party’s founding president Abhijit Dipke said, our protest at Jantar Mantar will continue until Dharmendra Pradhan resigns. We are very relieved that Sonam Wangchuk has ended her hunger strike, as it had been more than 26 days. His life is really very precious for the country. On the meeting to be held with Union Ministers today, Dipke said, the meeting will be held at a neutral place. Nothing less than the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan is acceptable.
Demonstration in Parliament premises
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and leaders of several other opposition parties on Friday demonstrated in the Parliament complex in support of the protesting students and against the government and demanded the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi, Trinamool Congress MP Sagarika Ghosh and leaders of many other parties participated in this demonstration organized near the Makar Gate of Parliament.
They raised slogans of We Want Justice. CPI (M) MP John Brittas said, the demand of the opposition is very clear. We want the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. He claimed that Prime Minister Modi talks about accountability, but he has made a person who is accused of scam as Higher Education Secretary. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav said that when the disease is at its root, no one will accept the treatment of fruits. Every problem in the country has only one root, which is stubbornness. You must have heard the name BJP.
Proceedings of both houses adjourned
The Lok Sabha meeting was adjourned till 12 noon within minutes of its commencement due to uproar by members of opposition parties on Friday demanding the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. Same was the condition of Rajya Sabha also.
As soon as the proceedings began, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla mentioned Kargil Vijay Diwas (26th July) and the House paid silent tribute to the armed forces personnel who made supreme sacrifice in the Kargil conflict. After this, the opposition members started raising slogans against the government, raising various issues including the police action on the students protesting in the capital on Monday over the NEET paper leak issue.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla appealed to them to allow the Question Hour to continue and assured that after the Question Hour is over, he will give the members an opportunity to express their views. Birla appealed to the opposition members to cooperate in running the House and said, Question Hour is the most important time. Members ask questions of the government and hold it accountable. He also said that after the Question Hour, discussion on any topic will be allowed as per the rules. Seeing the ruckus in the House not stopping, Birla adjourned the proceedings till 12 noon.
