
Karnataka government has given clean chit to three IPS officers in the Bengaluru stampede case. The government appointed former police commissioner B. The departmental inquiry against three IPS officers including Dayanand was stopped. This investigation was conducted in the case of stampede that took place at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on June 4, 2025, in which 11 people were killed and more than 50 were injured.
After the stampede, former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah asked the then ADGP B. Dayanand, Additional Commissioner of Police (West) Vikas Kumar Vikas, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Division) Shekhar H. Tekannavar, Assistant Commissioner of Police of Cubbon Park Sub-Division and Cubbon Park Police Inspector were suspended.
Officials denied the allegations
In three separate government orders, the state government said the officials had denied the allegations and sought to prove their innocence. After examining the statements made in their defense and considering the opinion of the administrative department, the competent authority decided to close the departmental inquiry against the three IPS officers. The orders said that the officers have been acquitted of all charges against them.
