Chhattisgarh: Distrust is against good governance and development… CM Sai’s counterattack on opposition’s demand

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has responded to the discussion on the no-confidence motion brought by the opposition in the Chhattisgarh Assembly. He said that this proposal is not against the government, but against the trust and mandate of the three crore people of the state. He said that in the assembly elections, Lok Sabha elections and urban body elections of the year 2023, the people have expressed their unwavering faith in development, good governance and the guarantees of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Chief Minister said that in the last two and a half years, the state government has implemented most of the promises made to the people and the guarantees of Modi. He said that the achievements of the government are proof of its working style and public trust.

Welfare of farmers, youth, tribals

Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai Said that the government has given top priority to the welfare of farmers, women, poor, youth, tribals and every section of the society. Purchase of paddy at the rate of Rs 3100 per quintal to farmers, payment of outstanding bonus for two years, honorarium amounting to more than Rs 18,800 crore to about 70 lakh women through Mahtari Vandan Yojana and effective implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for poor families is proof of the government’s commitment.

Economic and social empowerment of women

The Chief Minister said that the state government has given a new direction to the economic and social empowerment of women. Along with Mahtari Vandan Yojana, more than 10 lakh 40 thousand women have been made ‘Lakhpati Didi’. To strengthen the property rights of women, 50 percent rebate in registration fee and one percent rebate in stamp duty has been given. He said that self-help groups have been provided employment opportunities again and the blessings of women are the biggest strength of the government.

The Chief Minister said that for the prosperity of farmers, many decisions have been taken like record paddy purchase, Krishak Unnati Yojana, agricultural loans at zero percent interest, crop diversification, adequate availability of fertilizers and expansion of irrigation capacity. He said that record administrative approvals have been given for water resources projects and irrigation capacity has increased significantly.

Tribal Youth Hostel for Tribal Youth

Chief Minister Sai said that the government has taken many historic decisions for the development of the tribal society. The remuneration of tendu leaf collectors was increased, Charanpaduka scheme was restarted and decisions were taken to provide relief to forest rights holders. Through Dharti Aaba Tribal Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan and Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana, roads, electricity, drinking water, housing and health facilities are being provided to thousands of tribal villages and especially to the vulnerable tribal families.

Expansion of the Tribal Youth Hostel in Delhi for tribal youth, hosting of Khelo India Tribal Games and initiatives like Tribal Museum and Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Memorial are also among the priorities of the government.

The Chief Minister said that it is the priority of the government to provide more opportunities for employment, education and skill development to the youth. Due to the new industrial policy, the investment environment in the state has strengthened. Investment proposals worth more than Rs 8 lakh 23 thousand crore have been received through investment conferences organized in the country and abroad, which will create lakhs of jobs. The state is progressing rapidly in the fields of textile industry, semiconductor, artificial intelligence, AI-SEZ, data center park and electronics manufacturing.

Generation, transmission, distribution and expansion of renewable energy

The Chief Minister said that in the energy sector, the government has paid special attention to production, transmission, distribution and expansion of renewable energy. Under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, solar plants have been installed in more than 76 thousand houses and relief has been given to more than 12 lakh consumers through the Chief Minister Electricity Bill Solution Scheme. Farmers’ irrigation pumps have been energized on a large scale and the state has secured first position in the country in terms of plant load factor. Work on new thermal power projects, pumped storage and solar energy projects is also being done at a rapid pace.

Chief Minister Sai said that transparent use of mineral resources and effective operation of the District Mineral Institute Fund has given new momentum to the development of the state. Mineral Online 2.0 and DMF Portal 2.0 have been implemented with record mineral revenue generated. More than 82 thousand development works have been completed and a transparent and accountable system has been established through auction of mineral blocks, development of strategic minerals like lithium and new sand policy. Strict action is being taken against illegal mining and tree plantation is also being done on a large scale for environmental protection.

The Chief Minister said that significant progress has also been made in the fields of digital infrastructure, education and health. 829 mobile towers have been installed in remote areas and thousands of gram panchayats are being connected to high-speed internet through BharatNet Phase-3.0. The problem of teacherless schools has been eliminated through rationalization in education, while health security has been provided to most of the families in the state under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.

Administrative reforms and developments in the field of e-governance

Chief Minister Sai said that the state has made remarkable achievements in the field of administrative reforms and e-governance. 528 services of 36 departments have been made available online through Seva Setu. Timely and transparent access of government services to common citizens is being ensured through e-District, Auto Mutation, Model Smart Registry Office, Chief Minister Helpline 1076. He said that Chhattisgarh is being made a model of good governance by implementing 435 administrative reforms.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is giving equal importance to environmental protection, eco-tourism, forestry and preservation of cultural heritage. More than seven crore saplings have been planted under the ‘One Tree in the Name of Mother’ campaign. He said that thousands of devotees have visited Ayodhya Dham through Shri Ramlala Darshan Scheme and the cultural and spiritual heritage of the state is getting a new identity.
