PM Modi reached Chandigarh on Friday, where he gave a big gift. On this occasion, the PM said that there is a different feeling of happiness in the mind after coming among the people here. Chandigarh has been a model of development not only of the city but also of the country. Chandigarh is known for systematic development and better lifestyle. Better medical facilities are its identity. Along with all this, the identity of Chandigarh is the blessings of Mother Chandi. That is why development of Chandigarh has always been the specialty of the NDA government.
While addressing the people, PM Modi said that you will notice that one and a half years ago, the country has made huge improvements in the justice system. We have replaced the Penal Code with the Indian Judicial Code. That means justice based legal system instead of punishment based laws. At that time, the implementation of the Indian Judicial Code had started from Chandigarh itself. That is why development of Chandigarh has always been the specialty of the NDA government.
PM said, before coming here I was in Jind, Haryana. From here I have to go to Jalandhar for the development work of Punjab. This program of Chandigarh is being held today between these two programs. Our Chandigarh connects the entire region of Haryana-Punjab-Himachal. The development of Chandigarh not only changes the lives of the people here, but it also benefits the people of Haryana, Himachal, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir a lot.
Chandigarh is a big hub in this entire region
He said that Chandigarh is a big hub for medical services in this entire region. When we talk about health, we all know how big a role cleanliness plays in it. When our government was formed in 2014, we launched the Swachh Bharat Mission for the country. Crores of toilets were built in the country, the country was made free from open defecation, campaigns were launched for cleanliness of public places.
Cleanliness should become a part of our lifestyle
The PM said that various initiatives were started to ensure that cleanliness becomes a part of our lifestyle. Swachh Bharat ranking of our cities is a part of this effort and Chandigarh also tries to perform better in it.
