Jan Suraj Party (JSP) supremo Prashant Kishore has suffered a major setback amid the by-election of Bankipur seat in Bihar. Senior party leader Professor KC Sinha has left Jan Suraj Party and joined Bharatiya Janata Party. Speaking on his decision to leave Jan Suraj at the BJP office in Patna on Wednesday, Professor Krishna Chandra Sinha alias KC Sinha said that one should “go with the current” i.e. stay with the government.
Professor KC Sinha, a famous mathematics teacher and who has written several books on the subject, had contested the Bihar Assembly elections held in November 2025 from Kumhrar seat in Patna district on Jan Suraj Party ticket, but he could get only 15,000 votes. Pro. Sinha is one of the founding leaders of Jan Suraj. State BJP President Sanjay Saraogi has included Sinha in the party. Bittu Singh and Gopal Singh also joined him, who had contested the assembly elections on behalf of Jan Suraj Party.
After joining BJP, Prof. KC Sinha wished Prashant Kishore and told that he is not a voter of Bankipur. He said that national interest is supreme and it is necessary to strengthen the country. He said that India was once the center of education and it has to get that status back.
What did Sinha say on disillusionment with Jan Suraj Party?
KC Sinha also said that even while being in Jan Suraj Party, his entire focus was on education. When asked about his disillusionment with the Jan Suraj Party, KC Sinha, understanding the “mathematics” of politics, clearly said, “If you go against the current, it takes a lot of time. If you go with the current, i.e. the government, then it is fine.”
National interest is most important
Pro. Sinha again said that national interest is most important at this time. Because clouds of war are looming over the world, it is necessary to strengthen the central government. He said that our government is already strong, but there is a need to strengthen it further so that India’s influence is visible across the world. Sinha said that the whole world is looking towards India with hopeful eyes and reminded that India has historically been a ‘Vishwa Guru’.
Joined BJP to take the country to the top
He said that the level of education in India was very high and the country was a ‘world leader’ in the field of education. Even at that time, when transportation facilities were less, ten thousand students from foreign countries used to come to Nalanda University to get education. He said that he is joining BJP to help the country reach the top once again.
