Big step by Delhi government, integrated e-payment system will start on e-procurement portal

In a significant initiative towards making the e-tendering system more simple and effective, Delhi e-Governance Society (DeGS) under the Department of Information Technology, Government of Delhi has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with State Bank of India to implement integrated e-payment solution on the e-Procurement portal of Delhi Government.

Under this agreement, a comprehensive digital payment platform called e-Pay will be launched, which is designed to provide better e-banking facilities, easy digital payment support and comprehensive Management Information System (MIS) support for government procurement processes.

currently e-tendering The process mainly uses manual methods and physical management systems for payments. Once the e-pay solution is implemented, this process will be completely digitized, thereby ensuring transparency, accountability and ease of use for stakeholders participating in government tenders.

Integrated e-payment on e-procurement portal

Apart from this, to promote ease of doing business and further simplify the tendering processes, the IT Department has also integrated the Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) facility in the Delhi Government e-Procurement Portal.

This initiative has digitized the payment and verification process for bidders, enabling real-time confirmation of transactions and significantly reducing manual intervention. This digital improvement will also eliminate the need for bidders to submit physical demand draft, making the tender process more fast, transparent and completely paperless.

Digitization of Earnest Money Deposit (EMD)

Under this partnership, SBI will provide assistance to Delhi e-Governance Society to effectively operate and manage secure online payment processes related to e-tendering. This MoU was formally signed between the Director of Delhi e-Governance Society (DeGS) and the Deputy General Manager of SBI.

Delhi IT Minister Dr Pankaj Kumar Singh said that this initiative is in line with the Delhi government’s broader vision of strengthening the digital governance infrastructure and promoting technology-based administrative reforms.

Under the leadership of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, our government is continuously working on improving efficiency, transparency and public service delivery through innovation-led digital initiatives.
