
Bankipur By-election: Bankipur of Bihar is in the news at the moment. By-election is to be held here. For this, candidates from all parties have filed nominations. July 13 was the last date for nomination. Neeraj Kumar Sinha from BJP, Prashant Kishore from Jansuraj, Rekha Kumari Gupta from RJD and Veena Manvi from Tej Pratap’s party Janashakti Janata Dal are trying their luck on Bankipur assembly seat. Many senior leaders including Bihar BJP state president Sanjay Saraogi, former minister Mangal Pandey were present in Neeraj’s nomination.
Voting will be held in Bankipur on 30th July and the results will come on 3rd August. This by-election is being considered very important for the politics of Bihar because all three candidates on this seat are in the electoral fray for the first time and all three are in the headlines. Just the reasons are different.
Neeraj Sinha graduated after 12 years of matriculation
In this news we will talk about BJP candidate Neeraj Kumar Sinha. Neeraj is 32 years old. Ever since their claim has been decided in Bankipur. Since then it has remained in the news. First, questions were raised regarding Neeraj Sinha’s information (year of birth and party membership). At the same time, now it is being discussed that he graduated after 12 years. According to the election affidavit, BJP candidate Neeraj Sinha, who passed matriculation in 2012, graduated from Magadh University in 2024.
Assets worth more than Rs 12 lakh, no own house, no case
Neeraj is a resident of Mithapur, Patna. His assets are more than Rs 12 lakh. He neither has any house of his own nor any loan. There is no criminal case against him either. Neeraj has stated in the election affidavit that his total movable assets are Rs 12.28 lakh. The immovable property is worth Rs 8 lakh. There is no residential house, flat or commercial building in his name. He is not married yet.
Voting in Bankipur on 30th July, results on 3rd August
Voting will be held in Bankipur on 30th July. The results will be declared on August 3. The by-election is being held in Bankipur because the sitting MLA and BJP national president Nitin Nabin had resigned from the assembly membership after being elected Rajya Sabha MP, leaving this seat vacant. Nitin Nabin had won from here in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.
BJP had earlier made Abhishek Kumar its candidate.
Bankipur has been a stronghold of BJP, hence this by-election will be a test for both the NDA government and the opposition. Let us tell you that BJP had earlier made Abhishek Kumar its candidate. Later he withdrew his name. Abhishek cited family reasons behind this. After this the party made Neeraj Sinha the new candidate from Bankipur.
