The month of June is going to start from tomorrow. If you have to go to the branch next month to get check book, passbook updated or any important loan related work done, then do your financial planning now. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the official holiday calendar for June 2026. In the month of June, bank branches will remain locked for a total of 11 days across the country. This long list of holidays includes regular holidays of second, fourth Saturday as well as Sunday. Apart from this, bank employees will also have holidays on special occasions like Muharram and many regional festivals.
Due to these reasons work will be halted for 11 days
According to RBI guidelines, bank holidays are divided into three different categories. Apart from national holidays, many holidays depend on state-specific festivals, which have a direct impact on the customers of that region. If we look at the calendar of June 2026, there will be weekly holiday of Sunday on 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th. At the same time, due to the second Saturday on 13th June and fourth Saturday on 27th June, all bank branches across the country will remain closed. Digital banking will become support
Banks being closed for 11 days does not at all mean that your daily transactions will stop completely. The Reserve Bank has made it clear that despite the branch being closed, digital services will remain operational 24 hours for the convenience of customers. You will be able to use facilities like UPI, net banking, mobile banking app, ATM without any interruption. With this, you will not have to face any problem in money transfer or bill payment. Nevertheless, the better option is to complete the tasks which can be done only by visiting the branch in time.
