BAN vs AUS: The one who made it to Punjab’s Ranji team got a chance in Australia’s T20 team, will play against Bangladesh

Nikhil Chaudhary, Australia T20I Squad: Nikhil Chaudhary, born in Delhi in 1996, has been included in Australia’s T20 team. Nikhil Chaudhary has played cricket from Punjab in India. He has been a part of Punjab’s Under 16, Under 19 and Under 22 teams. Nikhil Chaudhary was also included in Punjab’s Ranji team but due to not getting a chance in any match, he could not make his first class debut. Now the same Nikhil Chaudhary will be seen playing T20 for Australia. He has been selected for the T20 series against Bangladesh. Nikhil Chaudhary is the first Indian-born cricketer in more than 60 years to play cricket for Australia’s men’s team.

Nikhil Chaudhary in Australia’s T20 team

In Australia’s T20 team against Bangladesh Nikhil Chaudhary Has got the chance in place of Travis Head. Head has taken leave from the team due to personal reasons. Nikhil Chaudhary will join the Australian team in Bangladesh on June 12. Nikhil Chaudhary is a spin all-rounder, who likes batting in the middle order. To secure a place in the Australian team, he will face tough competition from players like Aaron Hardie and Joel Davis. Both these players are also part of Australia’s T20 team.

Will debut be against Bangladesh?

After making a place in Australia’s T20 team, now all eyes are on his debut. The first T20 between Bangladesh and Australia is starting from June 17, in which Nikhil Chaudhary is a big contender to play. If Nikhil Chaudhary gets a chance to debut, his name will also be included among those players of Indian origin who have played international cricket for Australia.

Such a player came to Australia team for the first time since 1964

Many players of Indian origin have played international cricket for Australia before. Gurindhar Sandhu and Tanveer Sangha are such names. But Nikhil Chaudhary, who was born in India and plays cricket for Australia, will be the second till now. In the year 1964, a Gujarat-born leg spinner named Rex Sellers made his debut for the Australian men’s team in the Kolkata Test.

Nikhil Chaudhary is not an Australian citizen. But they are always there. He played 14 matches for his state team Punjab in India. Nikhil, who had played with Harbhajan Singh, Shubhman Gill and Abhishek Sharma, had gone to his uncle’s house in Queensland, Australia during Corona and while staying there, he started fulfilling his dream of playing cricket for Australia.
