Anti Paper Leak Bill has been passed in the Lok Sabha amid uproar by the opposition. After this the proceedings of the House were adjourned till 11 am on Thursday. Earlier, while replying to the discussion in the House, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that pellet guns were not fired in the Cockroach Janata Party movement. He rejected the allegations of opposition leader Rahul Gandhi.
Jitendra Singh said that no bullet was fired. Orders to open fire are given by officers, not the government. When there was no firing on the students during the protest, then what is the point of asking who gave the order? Jitendra Singh said that the order to open fire is given by the magistrate and not by the minister. Rahul gives statements without facts. He said that only tear gas was used on the protesters.
‘If his desire to become PM was not fulfilled then he sat near PM’s residence’
Jitendra Singh further said that on July 21, Rahul sat near the PM’s residence. When his desire to become the Prime Minister was not fulfilled, he thought of sitting near the PM’s residence. He said in the Lok Sabha that initially he was reluctant to join that movement. They thought that it was a movement of Aam Aadmi Party. But when they felt that the movement was starting to arise, they joined it. When they picked him up from near the PM’s residence, he walked out of there very disrespectfully.
Union Minister lashed out at Rahul Gandhi
Responding to the government’s discussion on the bill, the Union Minister said, ‘When such an important bill is being discussed, instead of giving suggestions, politics is being done on it. The unparliamentary language used by the opposition leader is shocking. I wonder whether he even knows the basic rules of parliamentary functioning. What could be more unfortunate than calling the youth of this country, who are the future of the country, ‘fools’?’
What did Rahul Gandhi say?
Before that, during the discussion on the bill, Rahul Gandhi had made a sharp attack on the Central Government and while raising questions on the education system of the country, he alleged that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) controls the major educational institutions. He also said that former Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was just a ‘symbol’.
‘RSS is running the country’s education system’
Rahul Gandhi alleged that merely changing the Education Minister will not bring any meaningful change in the education system. He claimed that ‘RSS has taken over the examination system. RSS members hold every important position. Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation will not change anything because he was just a symbol. RSS is running the education system of the country. There is an RSS Vice Chancellor in every university.
