Wangchuk will end his fast, but wife Gitanjali Angmo put this condition

Gitanjali Angmo, wife of social activist Sonam Wangchuk, said on Sunday that if leaders of political parties meet him (Wangchuk) at Safdarjung Hospital and assure that the issue of accountability in the education sector will be raised in the monsoon session of Parliament starting from Monday (tomorrow), then he will end his fast.

Addressing the protesters at Jantar Mantar, Geetanjali said that Sonam Wangchuk has given the message that if the leaders of political parties promise to raise this issue in Parliament, then she will end her fast.

Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) is leading the protest at Jantar Mantar against the NEET-PEPAK leak and demanding education reforms. Geetanjali said that if leaders of political parties meet Sonam in the hospital and assure her that they will raise the issue of accountability in the education sector during the monsoon session, she will end her fast tomorrow.

He also shared Sonam Wangchuk’s message to the supporters of the movement to maintain peace and discipline ahead of the proposed CJP Chalo Sansad march on Monday. Geetanjali said, Sonam has appealed to all of us that tomorrow’s march should be carried out peacefully and it should be ensured that the protest is not used for any wrong purpose.

Sonam Wangchuk’s condition stable

On the ongoing concerns regarding Wangchuk’s health, Gitanjali said that the condition of the social worker is stable. He said that his health is absolutely fine. I tried my best in the High Court to get him shifted to a private hospital, but I could not succeed.

Demonstration continues in the hospital also

Delhi Police removed Sonam Wangchuk, who was fasting for three weeks at Jantar Mantar, from the protest site early Saturday and admitted her to Safdarjung Hospital. Geetanjali has said that Wangchuk is continuing his fast in the hospital and is refusing to take any kind of drip.

20 thousand people present around Jantar Mantar

At the same time, CJP’s chief spokesperson Saurav Das claimed that even before the scheduled Parliament march, about 20 thousand people are present in and around Jantar Mantar. Saurav Das said in a post on X, 20,000 people are present in and around Jantar Mantar and July 20 has not even come yet. Dharmendra Pradhan, now the time for your accountability has come.
