
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav took an important meeting of the Board of Directors of Madhya Pradesh Passenger Transport and Infrastructure Limited on Monday. Senior officials including Board Vice Chairman and Transport Minister Uday Pratap Singh and Chief Secretary Anurag Jain were present. Board’s Managing Director Manish Singh gave the presentation. It was told that Madhya Pradesh will be divided into 7 regions, Indore, Ujjain, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Sagar, Gwalior and Rewa.
In the meeting, information was given regarding the companies already operating in these cities for urban transport. It was told in the meeting that the operation of buses under PM e-bus service and Chief Minister Sugam Parivahan Seva Yojana will be started first from Indore area. All the districts of Indore division and Atal Indore City Transport Service Limited (AICTSL) based in Indore will now work in the area of buses originating from the entire Indore division.
Intercity buses connecting districts
Operation of buses on intercity routes connecting Indore to other districts of Madhya Pradesh – City buses will be operated in Indore city, buses will be operated as per the contract on the interstate routes going to the neighboring states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh of Indore division. Along with this, it was also informed that the operation of 150 electric buses of PM e-bus service is also proposed to be started in Indore city from the month of July.

Took care of people’s convenience
City buses will also be operated under the Chief Minister Sugam Transport Service in seven regional headquarters Indore, Bhopal, Ujjain, Gwalior, Sagar, Jabalpur and Rewa. These buses will also be able to go beyond the city to important sub-urban areas for the convenience of the general public. Under this category of city routes, a total of 28 routes have been identified within the city and sub-urban areas in Indore. For the convenience of the people, 784 buses (including 150 buses of PM e-bus service) will be operated. According to the route contract, there are a total of 101 buses going from Indore region to the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
In this, a total of 276 interstate buses will be operated by Atal Indore City Transport Service Limited (AICTSL). Thus, the total number of intercity city buses and interstate routes starting from Indore is 250. A total of 1688 buses are proposed to be operated.
Private buses will not be affected
It was told in the meeting that just as the above three categories of buses will be operated on different routes from Indore region, similarly, these three categories of buses from other 6 regional headquarters will also be operated on the identified routes by the subsidiaries of that region. A total of 1164 routes of all categories have been identified in seven areas of the entire state, in which a total of 5206 buses will operate.
The buses will be operated after the publication of the scheme under the relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act 1988. There will be no impact on the licenses of currently operating private buses and they will continue to operate as per the previous arrangement. In the meeting, the Board of Directors also approved important organizational infrastructure and posts of the state level company and seven subsidiary regional companies formed under the Chief Minister Sugam Transport Seva.
The Board of Directors has also approved the Service Recruitment Rules-2026 which are effective in these companies. 7 departments will work in the state level holding company Madhya Pradesh Passenger Transport and Infrastructure Limited, which will be IT and ITMS Department, Planning and Contract Department, Policy Department and Research, Human Resources and Law Department, Infrastructure Department, Enforcement and Quality Department and Business Development Department. The head of all departments will be the Chief General Manager.
Indian Administrative Service and State Administrative Service officers along with other technical experts can be taken on these posts. In this holding company, posts can be recruited on deputation, contract and merger basis. A total of 140 posts have been sanctioned in the state level holding company in upper management category, senior management category and junior management category.
Many posts got approval
It was informed in the meeting that a total of 150 posts have been approved in 7 regional subsidiary companies under the state level holding company. All subsidiaries will be under one executive director. Posts have also been sanctioned for security and convenience and enforcement staff of buses operating under subsidiary regional companies. In this, officers and employees from police and special armed forces can be taken on deputation or recently retired officers and employees can be taken on contract.
Posts have also been approved under the Quality Department for quality control of the buses being operated. This will make the travel of common people safe. These buses, operated under the State Transport Undertaking, will be able to reach all the ISBTs and bus stands of the state. Thus, the Board of Directors has given approval to create a total of 1190 posts in various departments in a state level holding company and 7 subsidiary regional companies. In this, the posts will be filled in a phased manner for the next 4 years.
CM Dr. Yadav gave instructions
In the meeting, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav instructed Additional Chief Secretary Urban Development and Housing Sanjay Dubey that a reasonable decision should be taken by the department regarding the liabilities of these 7 companies located in 7 cities. In the meeting, Chief Secretary Anurag Jain directed that the authorized capital of the state level company should be kept at Rs 100 and the paid-up capital amount should be kept at Rs 35 crore as per the decision of the Council of Ministers.
