Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has given a big statement regarding the LGBTQ+ community. He says that the LGBTQ+ community is also a part of the Indian society and they should not be isolated from the society. During an event in Hyderabad on Sunday (July 26), he said that the LGBTQ+ community should also get respect and equal place in the society.
Mohan Bhagwat said that Indian traditions have long recognized such communities and have made a place for them in the society. He said that LGBTQ+ and all such communities exist. Such tendencies are found in the society. He said that some are innate, which are decided by nature itself. They are just born that way. Some develop later due to thinking or physical inclination.
‘Don’t look at the LGBTQ+ community with inferiority complex’
He said that our tradition has accepted the existence of LGBTQ, recognizing that while some may be treatable, those who cannot be treated are also human beings and have the right to live. They are not isolated from the society. There is a place for them too in the vast fabric of social life. He said that we have been taught not to look at them with inferiority complex.

‘There is also Mahamandaleshwar of LGBTQ…’
Bhagwat said that even today we see that they have their own deities, pilgrimage sites and even Mahamandaleshwar who participate in the Kumbh Mela. Instead of making unnecessary noise on these matters, we handled them calmly so that the society maintains a sympathetic attitude towards them. Considering them as an important part of our society, we made appropriate and sensible arrangements.
What did Bhagwat say about gender equality?
In the program he also talked about the ongoing debate on gender superiority and said that it is like discussing who is superior, man or woman. So it is natural that those who are in favor of men will say that men are superior. Those who are in favor of women will say that women are superior. Now it is again a dispute between superior and junior. He said that if we accept this, then many questions arise that if women are superior, then why should they live as slaves in the family? He said why accept a marriage which enslaves you. He said that women can do everything. He said that marriage is a discipline which imparts the values of religion, whereas the reality of co-living relationship can be seen all over the world.
Opinion expressed on Gen-Z
While addressing a program organized by Vishwa Mangalya Sabha here on the topic of contemporary motherhood, he also said that Gen-Z people do things after seeing others, are emotional and do not think with a calm mind. He said that Gen-Z people get attracted towards what they think is right.
Advice given regarding mobile phone
Bhagwat said that parents should adopt discipline in the use of mobile phones. He also described the importance of dialogue between family members to answer the questions of the new generation children and to resolve various family-related issues. Talking about parents’ concerns about the lifestyle of the new generation, including excessive use of mobile phones, he said that elders themselves should behave as they want to see in the new generation.
Bhagwat said, ‘The change you want to see in the society, start it from yourself. Reduce your time on social media. Be disciplined in using mobile. He said that we tell children the rules for using mobile phones, but they themselves are so attached to the mobile phone that when the child cries, the mother hands it over to the child.
