After India’s decision regarding Indus Water Treaty, now Pakistan-based terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba has started preparations for attack through water. According to security sources, Lashkar is training its terrorists to conduct operations through waterways and for this the Mangala Dam area of Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) is being used.
According to intelligence inputs, senior Lashkar commander Haris Dar, while addressing the terrorists in a training camp, mentioned the preparations for a water-related operation. He said that the 10-day basic course has been completed and now further training will start at Mangla Dam. Haris Dar told the terrorists, “Now the real work will begin. We have made preparations regarding water. And our issue regarding water is with India.” He also claimed that Pakistan can do something on the water issue in 2026.
Infiltration and attack strategy through water
Security agencies are taking these statements seriously. Agencies believe that Lashkar can now work on the strategy of infiltration and attack through water along with traditional infiltration. The name of Mangla Dam has come up earlier also in connection with terrorist activities. It was revealed to the investigating agencies that the terrorists involved in the conspiracy of 26/11 Mumbai attacks also got training in this area.
Keep an eye on terrorist camps, waterways and suspicious activities
Information has come to light that Saifullah Khalid Kasuri, the alleged mastermind of the Pahalgam terrorist attack, was seen in the same training hub. This indicates that Lashkar is trying to reactivate its old network. India’s security agencies are now keeping a close watch on terrorist camps, waterways and suspicious activities across the border. Especially amidst the tension related to Indus Water Treaty, the statements made by terrorist organizations regarding water are being considered important from security point of view.
