Dr. Karishma Reddy had shared a small story on Instagram about her days spent in a small town in Georgia during her medical studies. In his video, he told how a patient’s sharp and racist joke had shaken him to the core. But the surprising thing happened when the comment section of this video was flooded with anti-India and racist comments. People started making fun of her culture, tradition and bindi and even asked her to return back to India.
‘Never seen such anti-India atmosphere in my life’
Hurt by such reactions, Dr. Reddy shared another video. Expressing grief, he said, I have never seen such a hateful and anti-India atmosphere in my entire life. She told that she was born and brought up in America, yet she has to face such comments. Along with this, he spoke openly on Hindu traditions and some myths related to cows and appealed to people to maintain kindness among themselves instead of hatred.
Received huge support on social media
Even though some people were trying to spread hatred, many social media users in the country and abroad openly supported Dr. Karishma Reddy. People praised his decency, restraint and the wisdom with which he responded to this entire matter. Netizens said that such treatment of people providing their services in the healthcare sector is very shameful.
