Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav had formed a Group of Ministers to resolve the issues of farmers. A meeting of this group with representatives of farmer organizations was held in the ministry on 29 July. Many important farmer friendly decisions were taken in the meeting. State Agriculture Minister Andal Singh Kansana gave information regarding this. He said that Madhya Pradesh government has always been working in the interest of farmers. Our farmers are the basis of the economy and prosperity of the state and the state government is working with full commitment to ensure fair prices for the produce produced by their hard work.
County of Agriculture Minister Adal Singh Kansana Said that as we all know, the Government of India had set a target of 4.52 lakh metric tonnes for Madhya Pradesh for the procurement of summer moong this year. Under the scheme of the Government of India, there is a provision to procure maximum 25 percent of the total production of the state. Under this rule of the Government of India, it was decided that 25 percent of their produce would be procured from the moong producing farmers of the state at the Minimum Support Price (MSP).
Kept the interest of farmers in mind
Minister Kansana said that after the discussion with farmer representatives today, the Madhya Pradesh government has taken an important decision keeping in mind the broader interest of the farmers. Now, not 25 percent but 60 percent of his moong produce will be procured from each eligible farmer, which comes to about 3 quintals per acre in districts like Narmadapuram, Sehore and Harda. This decision will be implemented with immediate effect and it will be our endeavor that as many farmers as possible get its benefits.
Slot booking extended by 10 days
Minister Kansana said that keeping in mind the convenience of the farmers, the government has decided to extend the slot booking period by 10 days. Now farmers will be able to book slots till 10th August instead of 30th July. Similarly, the last date for procurement is also being extended from 10th August to 20th August. I want to assure the farmer brothers and sisters of the state that the Madhya Pradesh government always stands in the interest of the farmers. As far as complaints and practical problems related to the e-token system implemented for fertilizer distribution are concerned, this system is an important reform of the state government and will provide a lot of convenience and benefits to the farmers in the future.
New system for farmers
Minister Kansana said that since this is a new system, in view of the problems being faced at the initial level, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has decided to constitute a high-level committee under the chairmanship of Agriculture Production Commissioner. This committee will examine all the problems related to the e-token system and present its recommendations to the state government. Necessary reforms will be made immediately based on the recommendations of the committee. The system of distribution of fertilizer through e-token is being suspended with immediate effect until suggestions are received and improvements are made.
