These families say that the government never understood the pain of the students appearing for the NEET exam and their parents. The families demanded changes in the education system so that in future the paper is not canceled due to paper leak or any other examination irregularities. Along with this, the families also expressed their displeasure over the police assault on the students during the protest in Delhi and Dharmendra Pradhan being forced to resign after pressure from the students.

Expressing his pain, the father of a 21-year-old NEET aspirant from Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh said that his son had given the exam for the third time. He told that his son had committed suicide in May. He told that even today his wife has not recovered from this shock and is still in shock after the death of their son. He said that no compensation can bring his son back. He said that the void left in his life after his son’s departure will never be filled.
Appreciation of peaceful demonstration of students
Along with this, while praising the peaceful demonstration of the students, he said that despite the beating by the police, the students remained firm. He demanded reforms in the education system to prevent similar incidents in future. He said that I hope that this protest will prove helpful in preventing such tragedies in future. He said that if Dharmendra Pradhan had resigned immediately after the protests started, the violence at Jantar Mandir could have been avoided.
Those responsible should be punished
The mother of an 18-year-old NEET aspirant who committed suicide on May 20 in Nagpur said that those responsible for her daughter’s death should be punished. She said that the resignation of the Education Minister is in its place, but she wants to thank the children who raised their voice for their child and faced police action. She said, ‘I want that those responsible for the paper leak and action against the students should be punished severely’.
‘Resignation will not bring my daughter back’
The student’s father said, ‘Today we got justice. Resignation will not bring my daughter back, but at least her soul will find peace. Regarding compensation, he said that after his daughter’s death, his relatives helped him repay the loan taken for her education. He said that if he gets compensation, he will repay the remaining loan with it. His wife had also participated in the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest in Nagpur.
The government took too long to admit its mistake
Here, the father of a deceased NEET candidate from Kotputli-Behror district of Rajasthan said that governments should understand what kind of mental pressure and pain students have to go through while preparing for competitive examinations. He said that strict steps should be taken to prevent such irregularities in the examination system.

He said that even after the death of so many children, the government was not ready to accept its mistake. He said, ‘It was only when so many students protested, faced police batons and refused to leave Jantar Mantar, that the government accepted it’. He said that Dharmendra Pradhan did not resign voluntarily but he resigned under the pressure of these children. Along with this he also said that compensation cannot bring his daughter back. He said that it is expected that the government will make serious reforms in the examination system and make it completely transparent and fair.
The government cannot understand our pain
The mother of a 23-year-old NEET aspirant from Dehradun said that Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation shows that the government has accepted its mistake, although it has been delayed. He said, ‘My daughter died without her fault. She was in deep depression because this was her last chance. The government cannot understand his and our pain. Compensation cannot bring him back, but structural reforms can prevent such tragedies in future. He held the central government directly responsible for the deaths of NEET candidates after the exam was cancelled.
‘She was our only child’
The mother of a 20-year-old NEET aspirant who committed suicide last week in Berhampur city of Odisha said that her daughter could not pass the examination. He said that the resignation of the Education Minister does not matter to him. He said, ‘She was our only child. What difference does it make to us whether the Education Minister resigns or not? But being a mother, I want that only meritorious students should get admission in NEET exam and not those who pass the exam by wrong means.
Now it seems sister got some justice
The brother of a 19-year-old NEET student who committed suicide in Uttar Pradesh’s Maharajganj district said the Cockrose Janata Party (CJP) protests have helped people understand the pain of NEET aspirants, as his sister’s suicide note, in which she had written that she would not be able to bear it anymore, had gone viral during the protests. He said, ‘Today I can sleep peacefully because I feel that my sister has got justice to some extent.’ His younger sister had committed suicide after giving the re-examination of NEET.
