
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor remained trapped in the lift of a hotel in Thiruvananthapuram for several minutes on Friday evening, although the fire brigade and rescue personnel later pulled him out safely. He had gone to the hotel to attend a program. An official of the Thiruvananthapuram Fire Brigade said that at 7:37 pm they received information that the MP was trapped in the hotel lift. As soon as the information was received, a team of fire brigade immediately left.
In the viral video, it was seen that initially some people were trying to open the lift door with the help of an iron rod, but they were not successful. After the arrival of the fire brigade, the officials opened the lift door with the help of hydraulic spreader and took out Shashi Tharoor and other people present with him safely at around 7:51 pm.
Thanked the fire brigade
When the door was opened, it was found that the lift had not completely reached its destination. Smiling, Shashi Tharoor thanked the fire brigade as soon as he came out of the lift. He said, ‘Thank you all. You have done a very good job. When the officials asked him if he was okay, Shashi Tharoor replied that everyone present in the lift was safe.
Fire brigade did rescue
Shashi Tharoor told journalists that first the lift mechanic was called, but they could not do anything. After this, the hotel staff also tried, but when they too could not help, it was decided to call the fire brigade.

Congress MP offered tea
He said, I already have a good opinion about the fire brigade. The officials here did a wonderful job. They arrived within five minutes. Very good, thank you all very much. Shashi Tharoor also said that if the officers have time, they should drink tea before leaving. However, the fire brigade personnel politely refused and left the place after shaking hands with the Congress MP.
