According to Drik Panchang, Tritiya Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month will start on 30 August 2026, at 09.36 am. This date will end on August 31, 2026, at 08:50 am. In such a situation, according to the belief of Udayatithi, in the year 2026, the fast of Kajri Teej will be observed on Monday, 31st August.
What is Kajri Teej?
Every year the fast of Kajri Teej is observed on the Tritiya Tithi of Krishna Paksha between the months of Bhadrapada i.e. August-September. Kajri Teej is called Kajli Teej and Badi Teej. Kajri Teej is celebrated with great enthusiasm in the states of North India like Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh. In Kajri Teej, married women worship Goddess Parvati and pray to her for a happy married life. Whereas unmarried girls perform puja and fast and ask for a suitable groom.
Kajri Teej puja method
Women should wake up early in the morning on the day of Kajri Teej. After taking bath, take a pledge to fast till evening. Worship Kajri Teej in the evening after sunset. Place a stool near the place of worship and spread a red or yellow cloth on it. Install the idols of Mother Parvati and Lord Shiva at the post. Light a ghee lamp in front of the idol. Offer sixteen makeup items to Goddess Gauri. Offer Belpatra, cow’s milk, Ganga water, sandalwood, hemp, perfume and Dhatura to Lord Shiva. Listen to the story of Kajri Teej with Akshat. Worship Chandradev at night and offer water to the moon with a silver ring and wheat grains in your hand. Be sure to gift wedding items to a poor married woman. Touch the feet of your in-laws, husband and take their blessings and break the fast.
