Amidst the month-long students’ agitation at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on the paper leak issue, the Central Government has now become very active in this matter. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself sent two such strict messages on this issue within a few hours on Thursday, which shows how seriously the government is taking the issue related to paper leak. Besides, rapid action has also started on this issue.
PM Modi announced in a post on Thursday morning that fast track courts will be formed for speedy disposal of this serious case. Necessary instructions have also been given for this.
Strict law discussed in cabinet meeting today
Then in one of his video posts late at night, PM Modi said that a cabinet meeting is to be held on Friday in which a bill related to strict provisions against paper leaks will be discussed.
He also told that in this cabinet meeting to be held on Friday, issues related to paper leak will be discussed and further action will be decided on the basis of suggestions from cabinet colleagues. Then next week on Monday, in the second week of the monsoon session, this bill with strict provisions will be presented. He also assured that efforts will be made to pass it as soon as possible.
2 Union Ministers to end the strike
Amidst the ongoing students’ agitation at Jantar Mantar, the Modi government was also working on this issue behind the scenes on fast track mode. Yesterday, apart from two important posts of PM Modi in a single day, the government’s efforts to end the 25-day long hunger strike of climate activist Sonam Wangchuk also continued.
Two Union Ministers reached the hospital to end the hunger strike of Wangchuk admitted in Medanta. JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh, sent by the Modi government, met Wangchuk on Thursday night and succeeded in convincing him. The government gave him written assurance on many matters related to paper leak. After this he ended his fast by drinking juice.

After ending Wangchuk’s fast, PM Modi made another post on social media, in which he wished Sonam to get well soon and also requested that she keep her daily routine as per the advice of doctors. Get your old weight back as soon as possible.
The government did not stop here and many important decisions were also taken by it. Delhi Police’s Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Sandeep Lamba has been removed from duty at the protest site. They have been sent back to their original place of posting. Besides, Higher Education Department Secretary Vineet Joshi has also been removed with immediate effect.
Government action against police officer also
Cockroach Janata Party, students and many different organizations had given a call for ‘Sansad Chalo’ march on July 20. But while going towards the Parliament, the protesters were stopped from going there due to which the situation turned violent. To stop them, the police released tear gas shells and also resorted to lathi charge.
Meanwhile, ADCP Sandeep Lamba was seen slapping a female protestor in a viral video. In such a situation, people got angry. This was also complained about in the court. But now they have been removed from here.
Transfer of Education Department Secretary Joshi
In a notice issued by the government late last night, it was said that Higher Education Department Secretary Vineet Joshi has been removed from his post. He has been sent to the Panchayati Raj Ministry. Joshi’s Naresh Gangwar has been appointed as the new Secretary of Higher Education Department.
Ready for discussion in Parliament, opposition refuses
On the other hand, the government is ready for discussion in Parliament, but the opposition is adamant on the demand for the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The Bharatiya Janata Party hit back at the Congress and said that the NDA government is fully ready to discuss the paper leak issue in Parliament, but the Congress and the entire opposition are running away from the debate.
BJP President Nitin Naveen yesterday claimed that Rahul Gandhi and the opposition are avoiding debate in Parliament on issues related to students and youth. He said that the entire opposition knows that its double standards will be exposed when the debate takes place.
On the other hand, yesterday on Thursday, MPs from the ruling party and the opposition demonstrated face to face in the Parliament complex. MPs from both sides gathered outside the Makar Gate of Parliament and raised slogans against each other.
BJP is continuously talking about holding a discussion in the Parliament but the opposition is demanding the resignation of the Education Minister. BJP is now trying to send the message that the government is ready for discussion, but the opposition does not seem to be ready for it.
