Fast track court hearing postponed on first day on NEET paper leak, CBI lawyers did not arrive

Amidst the protests by students across the country, the government has constituted a fast track court to punish those accused of NEET paper leak. Today (Monday, July 27) was the first hearing of paper leak cases in the fast track court created under the ‘Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024’ in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court. However, the track court hearing was postponed on the very first day.

According to the information, no lawyer from CBI appeared in the court today in the hearing of the case. Due to non-availability of government lawyer, the hearing was postponed till August 3 next month.

Fast Track Court Special Judge Anu Grover Baliga was to hear the bail petitions of Dinesh Biwal and Vikas Biwal, arrested in the NEET UG 2026 paper leak case. The court has asked the Director General of Police to appoint a public prosecutor for the NEET paper leak case. The next hearing of the case will be held on August 3 at 10 am in Rouse Avenue Court.

Dinesh Biwal and Vikas Biwal are among the 13 accused arrested by CBI under the NEET UG paper leak conspiracy. According to the investigating agency, the accused are related to the network which leaked the paper before the examination and further passed it on to many candidates.

PM had announced the formation of fast track court

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced the formation of a fast track court to punish those accused of paper leak. He had given this information on social media on July 23. While sharing a post, he had said that the welfare of the youth of the country and their future is the top priority of the government. He had said that in order to give strict punishment to the culprits in all the paper leak cases, fast track courts will be formed for quick disposal of the cases. Instructions have been given in this regard that the concerned departments should ensure necessary action. He had said that anyone playing with the future of the youth will not be spared.

The matter comes days after the nationwide student agitation against the alleged paper leak, which was led by the cockroach Janata Party (CJP), was called off after the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
