
Activist Sonam Wangchuk, who was on fast for 20 days at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital by the police on Saturday (July 18). His health was continuously deteriorating due to the fast. After 24 hours, a health bulletin was issued by the hospital on Sunday (July 19).
In the health bulletin, the hospital said that Sonam Wangchuk’s condition is stable. He is being given necessary medical treatment at VMMC and Safdarjung Hospital. It was said in the bulletin that at present Wangchuk’s vital parameters are stable. However, there are minor changes in his blood parameters.

The bulletin said that given the stress and impact of prolonged fasting on the body, he needs constant medical care under the supervision of a multi-disciplinary team of experts. So that if any kind of health problem occurs, it can be treated immediately.

Wangchuk’s condition is stable
The team of doctors from VMMC-Safdarjung Hospital and AIIMS is continuously monitoring him. Doctors say that it is necessary to keep Sonam Wangchuk under clinical monitoring round the clock. Its purpose is to identify and treat any possible complications in time. It was said in the bulletin that at present his condition is stable and he is being given all necessary medical care. His clinical status including blood parameters is being continuously monitored.
Was on hunger strike for 20 days
Sonam Wangchuk was on hunger strike for 20 consecutive days. His health was continuously deteriorating. Saturday was the 21st day of their strike. In the morning, Delhi Police reached Jantar Mantar and picked up Wangchuk from there and got him admitted to Safdarjung Hospital. The police cited his health and the order of the Delhi High Court as the reason behind this action. During this time there was a lot of uproar at Jantar Mantar. The police has also ordered the protesters to vacate Jantar Mantar.

After Sonam Wangchuk was admitted to the hospital, Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijit Dipke had announced a hunger strike. During this, he also made serious allegations against Delhi Police. He accused the police of beating and abusing. He announced that now he will demand the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan as well as Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
