Indian Idol 16 Winner Exclusive: Sony TV’s biggest singing reality show ‘Indian Idol 16’ has got its new queen. Jyotirmayee Nayak, resident of Odisha, has won the hearts of the entire country with her melodious voice and won the trophy. After this spectacular and melodious victory, in a special conversation with TV9 Hindi Digital, Jyotirmayi spoke openly about her musical journey, struggle, prize money and her personal life.
Question: What was the first reaction after winning the trophy of Indian Idol 16? To whom would you like to give credit for this victory?
luminous Answer: To be honest, I had gone completely blank. I didn’t know whether to cry or laugh at that moment! This is a very big and proud moment for me. It is with the blessings of Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannath ji and the love of the audience that my years of hard work have paid off and today this trophy is in my hands.
Talking about credit, first of all I am thankful for this opportunity that I have got, then the channel, Freemantle team, Anand sir, Ananya Di, everyone who brought me here. And my parents who have always supported me. And to my dear viewers who have given me so many votes.
Question: How much has Odisha and its culture contributed to your singing career?
Jyotirmayee’s answer: I am from Odisha and the culture of our state is very rich. Traditional folk songs like Rangabati and our cultural heritage have inspired me since childhood. When I went to my hometown, about 40 thousand children and fans had come to welcome me. I can’t forget that moment for the rest of my life.
Question: You are also an engineer, then how did you manage singing and studies?
Jyotirmayee’s answer: Education gives you a lot of confidence in life and teaches multitasking. I have always been a good student. After completing engineering, I studied music therapy. I believe that if you are serious about your passion, then both studies and music can be easily balanced.
Question: Tell us about music therapy, have you heard that it has helped cancer patients also?
Jyotirmayee’s answer: Yes, music therapy means healing humans through music. I have treated cancer patients through music. Music gives a lot of mental peace and mental strength to the patients. It also has a very positive effect on the mental development of pregnant ladies and small children.
Question: Who was your favorite judge among the three judges of Indian Idol?
luminous Answer: I think Shreya ma’am! Shreya Ghoshal ma’am is my most favorite judge, because I consider her like God. And I have received a lot of love from her, for me Shreya ma’am is not just my mentor, I have grown up listening to her songs. When I was singing in front of him for the first time, my dream had come true. He recognized me in the audition by my ‘pink frock’ look, which is a very special memory for me.
Question: It is everyone’s dream to come on the stage of Indian Idol. What is your basic mantra to reach and win trophies, which can inspire new singers?
Jyotirmayee’s answer: Look, my journey was not perfect at all. Those who have been following me from the beginning know that there were many ups and downs in my journey. But one thing I always held on to was my determination and determination to never give up! There were many people who supported me during the show and said, ‘Jyoti, you can do this.’ Especially my ‘Theatre Round’ was very special for me. That day, I got courage from my loved ones that when I have crossed such a difficult phase, why can’t I continue the journey ahead? With this thought and unwavering determination, I moved forward and today the trophy of Indian Idol is in my hands.
Question: Found from the show prize money What will you do? Light:
Jyotirmayee’s answer: I have not planned anything regarding money yet. My father is a Chartered Accountant (CA), so he will handle all the financial accounts. I just have a small dream that I can buy my own house with this money.
Question: Any special message for the fans?
Jyotirmayee’s answer: I would just like to say that ‘Indian Idol’ is such a wonderful platform which brings out the best talent from every corner of the country. I am very happy that I got such a big opportunity to showcase my skills on this platform and today I am standing here as a winner because of the love of all of you.
