‘Donation theft’ is an arrow in the opposition’s quiver and the government also has a big plan… there will be a huge conflict in the monsoon session!

July 19, 2026 by Uma Shankar

The monsoon session of Parliament starting from Monday is likely to be a stormy one. However, the monsoon session is also going to be important for the unity of the opposition India Bloc. The opposition is preparing to corner the government by raising issues like theft of offerings in Ram temple, NEET paper leak, forced removal of Sonam Wangchuk from Jantar Mantar, allegations of corruption and attempts to break the opposition parties.

Whereas the government delimitation bill And is considering bringing the Women’s Reservation Bill again in this session. For this, the government is expecting support from opposition parties like DMK, NCP (Sharad Pawar).

There are also signs of softening of stance of both these parties. Supriya Sule has already said that if the government writes about increasing the seats by 50% in the bill itself, then it can be discussed in the India Block.

DMK in favor of women’s reservation bill

Today the DMK said that the party is in favor of the Women’s Reservation Bill on the basis of the existing membership of the present Lok Sabha but nothing should happen which causes injustice to the southern states and if delimitation affects the southern states, then it should be postponed for 25 years. DMK MP Tiruchi Siva said that we need more clarity on the issue of delimitation.

This changed attitude of DMK is going to give hope to the ruling party. Because this is the same DMK which had burnt copies of the delimitation bill last time under the leadership of the then CM and party chief Stalin.

Leaders of 40 parties attended the all-party meeting

The government called an all-party meeting on Sunday to take the opposition along in the monsoon session. This meeting, chaired by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, lasted for about 3 hours. Today leaders of 40 parties participated in the all-party meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh welcomed all the leaders who came to the meeting. After this, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju informed in the meeting that the monsoon session of Parliament will start from July 20 and will end on August 13, in which there will be a total of 19 meetings.

Although the list of 8 bills circulated by the government in the all-party meeting for the monsoon session did not include the Delimitation Bill and the Women’s Reservation Bill, but Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that the government has given the list of 8 bills through a bulletin and apart from this, if it brings any bill (like delimitation etc.), then it will be brought under the rules after discussing with the opposition in the BAC. Rijiju appealed to the opposition that there should be discussion in Parliament and not ruckus.

Opposition made a plan to surround the government

At the same time, Gaurav Gogoi from Congress said that he will seek answers from the government on issues like donation theft, NEET paper leak, ethanol etc. in Ayodhya. Gogoi also said that the government should talk to all the parties and all the states on the Delimitation Bill.

Gaurav Gogoi said that we discussed the current issues of the country and demanded answers from the government. The theft of donations in Ayodhya is shameful, the government should show sensitivity on this. There is no moral responsibility from the government on the injustice done to the students/dharna/demonstration. Will raise the issue of ethanol, farmers, Manipur, theft of the House.
