Devendra Fadnavis ended the suspense, pulled himself out of the Delhi race, said – ‘I am in Maharashtra and will stay here’

July 26, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has put a complete stop to the speculations about joining central politics. He said in clear words, I came to Nagpur from Delhi yesterday, am in Nagpur today and will go to Mumbai in the evening. I am in Maharashtra and will remain in Maharashtra only. It has become clear from the Chief Minister’s statement that he is not going to join the Central Government or the Union Cabinet. For the last few days, after his visit to Delhi, discussions were going on about becoming a Union Minister and getting the responsibility of the Education Ministry. However, Fadnavis rejected all these speculations in his statement and made it clear that he will continue to fulfill the responsibility of Maharashtra.

Raj Uddhav’s rally today

Reacting to the celebration rally organized by Shiv Sena (UBT) and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) in Mumbai today, BJP leader CM Fadnavis said that they have got some opportunity to celebrate. Okay, that’s good. He said that the issue of students is not the issue of any political party, but of the entire country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is very sensitive towards the issues of students.

CM further said that probably the Central Government is going to bring an important bill on Monday, in which there will be a provision for strictest action in cases like paper leak. He said that the government is committed to making strict laws for transparency in the examination system and to protect the interests of students.

‘Government is looking for a permanent education minister’

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Sunday described the appointment of Pralhad Joshi as Union Education Minister as a “temporary arrangement”. He claimed that the central government was looking for a permanent replacement and suggested that Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis could be considered for the post.

Raut said, “Pralhad Joshi is currently the interim education minister. At best, he can prove to be a good coal minister. He has worked as a coal minister and for the BJP, but now he has been made the education minister. I believe this is a temporary arrangement, the government is actively looking for and considering a permanent education minister.”
