
Before the monsoon session of Parliament begins on Monday, a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) was held on Sunday under the chairmanship of the Speaker of the Lok Sabha. In the meeting, leaders of all political parties represented in the Lok Sabha were invited and they were asked to give their suggestions on important issues related to public interest.
During the meeting, representatives of the government and various political parties shared their views regarding the proposed legislative work and other parliamentary work in the monsoon session. The members also suggested to discuss many issues of national importance and public interest in the House.
Speaker sought cooperation from all parties
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla Appealed to all parties for constructive discussion, meaningful participation and following parliamentary traditions. He said that it is the joint responsibility of all parties to ensure smooth and orderly functioning of Parliament, so that comprehensive and effective discussion can be held on important issues related to the public.

In the meeting, the committee took cognizance of the suggestions given by the members. The schedule of discussion on various topics and time allocation will be finalized after consultation with the government and leaders of political parties in accordance with parliamentary traditions.
At the end of the meeting, the Lok Sabha Speaker expressed confidence that all the MPs will work in a cooperative spirit and make the monsoon session dignified, smooth and productive in public interest.
Know which bills will be presented in the session
In the Business Advisory Committee meeting, the time allotted for discussion in the Lok Sabha on the bills coming in the monsoon session was done in the BAC meeting. Many bills will be introduced during the session. Let us know for how many hours which bill will be discussed.
Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026 FCRA Amendment Bill
This bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha on March 25, 2026, which will be placed for consideration and passing in this session. Its objective is to increase the transparency of foreign grants coming to the country. This bill will be discussed for four hours.
New Bills to replace Ordinances
Income Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2026: Amidst the ongoing global geopolitical instability, crude oil price fluctuations and supply chain disruptions, this bill is being introduced with the aim of strengthening India’s sovereign debt market, attracting global capital inflows and increasing liquidity in the market. This bill will be discussed for four hours.
The Supreme Court (Number of Judges) Amendment Bill, 2026: Under this, there is a provision to increase the approved number of judges in the Supreme Court from 33 to 37 (except the Chief Justice), so that the pending cases can be disposed of quickly. This bill will be discussed for 4 hours.
Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Bill, 2026: This law will make the rules for delayed birth-death registration more stringent and streamlined by making changes in Section 13(3) of the original Act of 1969 (which was also amended in 2023). There will be a discussion on this bill for 4 hours.
The Prevention of Insults to National Honor (Amendment) Bill, 2026: Through this, the penal provisions against acts that hurt national symbols and national honor will be made stricter by amending the Act of 1971. This bill will be discussed for four hours.
Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Amendment) Bill, 2026: This bill will be introduced with the aim of promoting ‘ease of doing business’ and trust based rules in the MSME sector, strengthening the mechanism of delayed payments and giving more powers to the states. This bill will be discussed for five hours.
