Now he has given clarification regarding this and called it fake and a deepfake created by AI and also said that strict legal action will be taken against the culprits. Actually, a video has surfaced on social media in which the Minister is seen talking to the media outside the Parliament and saying that he believes that we should hang two-three cockroaches in public. So that the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) gets to know the reality of what our strength is and to what extent we can go. In the video, he said that when these people will see their two-three cockroaches hanging like this, all their hue and cry will calm down.
Piyush Goyal gave clarification
As soon as this video of Union Minister Piyush Goyal surfaced, people got angry. People expressed a lot of displeasure over his comment on social media. Now the minister called it a fake and a deepfake created with AI. He has shared a post on social media in which he said, ‘In an attempt to spread misinformation, what I said to the media outside Parliament was changed with bad intentions using AI and a deepfake video was created and spread.

Complaint lodged with police
The minister said, ‘I have lodged a complaint with the police and an FIR (No. 123/26) has been registered at Chanakyapuri Police Station on 25 July 2026 at 4.35 am. Strict legal action will be taken against all those involved in creating, spreading or promoting this fake video. Irresponsible misuse of Artificial Intelligence to mislead people will not and cannot be tolerated.

While appealing to the people, Piyush Goyal said, ‘I appeal to everyone to trust only verified and reliable sources for information. I am confident that the aware and technology-savvy citizens of India, especially our youth, will not fall prey to such misinformation. He said that such actions are not only misleading but also harm democratic dialogue.

PIB Fact Check has also declared this video as fake. PIB has made a post regarding this on social media. In which it is said that this is not a real video and it has been prepared with the help of AI.
