
The stir has once again intensified in the politics of Maharashtra. At around 11 pm on Tuesday night, a closed-door meeting took place for about an hour at the Chief Minister’s residence ‘Varsha’ between senior NCP (Sharad Pawar) leader Jayant Patil, senior NCP (Ajit Pawar) leader Praful Patel and state president Sunil Tatkare. At present, official information regarding the issues discussed in the meeting has not been revealed.
According to sources, Sharad Pawar The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP-SP) led by NCP can support the Constitution Amendment Bill related to women’s reservation and delimitation to be brought again by the Central Government. It is being told that the party had voted against this bill in the budget session, but now after talks with BJP leaders, its stand has changed.
No official announcement yet
However, no official announcement has been made by the party in this regard yet. According to the information, last time this Constitution Amendment Bill could not achieve the required two-thirds majority in the Lok Sabha, due to which it could not be passed. Now the central government is preparing to present it again in the monsoon session of Parliament.
Strategy to prevent possible breakdown in the party
There is also discussion in the political circles that the support of NCP (Sharad Pawar) will be limited only to this Constitution Amendment Bill. At the same time, some political analysts believe that this decision could also be a part of the strategy to prevent a possible split within the party. In recent times, there has been speculation about some party MPs joining BJP or Shiv Sena (Shinde faction).
Fadnavis had also contacted Sharad group
Sources claim that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and the central leadership of BJP had also contacted Sharad Pawar faction on this issue. After this, there is talk of reaching a consensus regarding support. However, no official confirmation has been given by NCP (Sharad Pawar) on this entire incident. In such a situation, the final and formal position of the party will become clear only when the bill is presented in the Parliament.
