
Even in Vande Bharat trains, famous for their modern facilities and high speed, passengers have made a large number of complaints regarding cleanliness and maintenance. A total of 537 complaints have been registered in Vande Bharat trains of Northern Railway between April 1 and June 21, 2026. In this, maximum 327 complaints have been made by people regarding cleanliness in the train. Apart from this, it includes 133 complaints regarding maintenance, 21 complaints regarding water availability, 15 complaints regarding catering, 13 complaints regarding poor condition of electrical equipment, 6 complaints regarding bedrolls and 6 complaints regarding the behavior of the staff.
Not only this, complaints related to security, non-arrival of trains on time, disabled facilities and corruption have also been registered in Vande Bharat. If we talk about railway division wise complaints, maximum 250 complaints have been registered in Delhi division. After this, 150 complaints have been made in Jammu division, 97 complaints in Lucknow division, 30 complaints in Ferozepur division and 10 complaints in Moradabad division.

IRCTC fined Rs 10 lakh
Just in the month of March itself, Railways had imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakh on Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation i.e. IRCTC after the complaint of a passenger. On March 15, a passenger had complained about the quality of food in Patna-Tatanagar Vande Bharat Express, taking it seriously, the Railways had imposed a fine of lakhs. Along with this, a fine of Rs 50 lakh was imposed on the concerned service provider and an order was given to terminate the contract.
