
Taking major action in yet another case of defrauding homebuyers, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a charge sheet against Saha Infratech Private Limited, its directors and some officials of HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank. This matter is related to a housing project located in Noida. This charge sheet has been presented in the special CBI court of Delhi.
According to CBI, investigation revealed that the directors of the builder company conspired with bank officials and others. It is alleged that they assured home buyers and investors of getting flats by giving them false promises and wrong information and fraudulently took financial advantage.
Chargesheet filed against the accused
The investigating agency has filed a charge sheet against the accused under criminal conspiracy, cheating, criminal breach of trust, misuse of public office and relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. CBI said that on the instructions of the Supreme Court, investigation of 33 other cases registered against unknown officials of builders and financial institutions across the country is also going on. These cases relate to alleged fraud with homebuyers and misuse of funds.
The agency has so far filed a total of 15 chargesheets against several builder companies and their directors, including Rudra Buildwell, Dream Procon, Jaypee Infratech, AVJ Developers, CHD Developers, Logix City Developers, Shushbha Buildtech, Nynex Developers.
CBI says that action against those who cheat common people, especially home buyers, will continue and accountability will be fixed in such cases.
