‘Action should be stopped against protesting students in Assam, Bengal and Bihar’, CJP’s ultimatum to the government.

July 27, 2026 by Uma Shankar

On the NEET paper leak issue, CJP had made 3 demands for the protesting students, one of which was that no action will be taken against the students. After the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, now Cockroach Janata Party spokesperson Saurav Das has shared a post on social media on the same issue. He said that we are receiving many reports that students and other protesters are being targeted, detained or arrested by different state agencies, especially in Assam, West Bengal and Bihar, which is very disturbing to us.

The Cockroach Janata Party had called off its nationwide protest only after the Government of India had assured us that no punitive action would be taken against any protestor in any BJP or NDA state, now or in the future. Therefore, the reports coming from these states are a matter of great concern. First of all, we would like to assure every protester that our legal team is already coordinating with competent lawyers of the concerned state to secure the release of those already detained and to provide all possible legal assistance. This has been happening since day one.

‘Respect the trust given to us’

Saurav Das said that secondly, we appeal to the Government of India, especially Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh, to immediately honor the trust given to us, ensure the release of the detained people and give instructions that no coercive or retaliatory action should be taken against any protestor anywhere in the country. The FIRs registered should also be withdrawn.

The Government of India is also reminded that it will fulfill its promise to give us a written guarantee in this regard by tomorrow, Tuesday, 28 July 2026. Our decision to stop protests across the country was taken in good faith and only on the basis of confidence in the government that it would stick to its word. Any breach of that trust would be a breach of trust not only with the cockroach Janata Party, but also with the millions of young Indians who chose dialogue over protest.

You are absolutely correct about the SSB paper leak in J&K @JPNadda ji but you have got the date wrong. It was 2022. The government wasn’t of NC & Congress. It was a government headed by Lt. Governor but thank you for reminding everyone of this failure. It involves these https://t.co/E8WHAJ0qCD pic.twitter.com/PsdaiJ2Uzx

‘Breaking trust is not acceptable to the youth at all’

Saurav Das said that such breaking of trust will not be acceptable to the youth at all. The Government of India is reminded that it gets confidence not just from the promises it makes, but from the promises it keeps. Saurav Das said that we tell the young protesters to wait. We are with you. CJP is closely monitoring the situation and hopes that the Government of India and all BJP/NDA state governments will act with full speed, responsibility and good faith as the current situation demands. We demand that all detained/arrested persons should be released immediately and in any case by tomorrow and all FIRs should be withdrawn immediately, failing which we will take further necessary steps.
