A case has come to light from Indira Gandhi Hospital located in Dwarka Sector-9, Delhi, which has once again raised questions on the system of Delhi government hospitals. Often in government hospitals, patients have to wait a long time for treatment and medicines, but this time the reason given was such that even the people present there were surprised.
It is being told that on Wednesday (July 29, 2026) around 10:10 am, many patients and their families were standing in the queue to get medicines at the Jan Aushadhi Center of the hospital. About 15 minutes had passed, but the staff sitting at the counter remained idle instead of giving the medicine. The line kept increasing and the patients kept waiting, but no one was told why there was a delay. Meanwhile, a patient standing in the queue very politely asked how much time would it take to get the medicine. On this question, instead of helping, the employee replied rudely, “Can’t you see? The floor has just been mopped. Only when it dries will you get the medicine.”
Why did people get angry after watching the video?
People were surprised to hear this answer. The patients were forced to stand there and wait for the mop to dry. About 10 more minutes passed, but the medicine distribution did not start. When people asked again how much more they would have to wait, the employee’s behavior became even more aggressive. He said in a loud voice that the medicine would not be available now and it would take at least half an hour more.
When some people wanted to know what was the connection between drying mops and distributing medicines, the employee got angry and started arguing. The patients present there say that instead of listening to them, the staff started scolding them. The matter escalated further when a patient started recording the video of the entire incident with his mobile phone. The employees lost their temper after seeing the video being made. It is alleged that he flatly refused to give medicine to the patient. Not only this, he used abusive language and also tried to scuffle with the patient.
After this incident, there was a lot of anger among the patients and their families who reached the hospital. The video of this entire incident is now becoming increasingly viral on social media. By sharing this, people are trying to draw the attention of the concerned health officials and Delhi government towards this matter. Now everyone’s eyes are on what action the administration takes in this matter after the complaint.
