
National President of Minority Morcha of Bharatiya Janata Party, Jamal Siddiqui has been threatened with death through WhatsApp message. An unknown person has demanded a ransom of Rs 1 crore from him. In the initial investigation, this number is said to be from Jammu and Kashmir, however, the search for the accused is going on with the help of cyber team. Siddiqui received threatening messages from mobile number 8899162823 between May 25 and 27. The accused demanded Rs 50 lakh to Rs 1 crore through UPI and bank transfer. Siddiqui and his family members have been threatened with harm if the money is not paid.
The surprising thing is that in the same message there has also been talk of bombing Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Sachin Pilot and Uday Bhanu Chib. The accused claimed that these leaders insulted him and expelled him from the party, for which he wants to take revenge. He also said that he has no enmity with BJP leaders.
Complaint lodged with Nagpur Police
Siddiqui has lodged a complaint regarding this matter with Nagpur Police. Police have registered a case under sections 308(5), 351(2), 351(3) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) and section 66(D) of the IT Act. Police say that investigation is being done through IP address tracking, call record analysis and cyber forensics. Siddiqui said that initially he thought it was a joke, but the subsequent threats created an atmosphere of fear in the family. He asked for cooperation from the police administration.
Search for the accused continues
After this incident, all the state presidents of BJP Minority Morcha have written a letter to Home Minister Amit Shah demanding a high-level inquiry. Morcha’s national co-media in-charge Faisal Mumtaz said that this demand has been made to give the harshest punishment to the culprits. At present the police is investigating the case and the search for the accused is going on.
