Ajimu of Japan (Ajimu) Three rare bones were found during excavations in the area between 1995 and 1997. Secret of new species revealed from spinal cord

Recently Kyoto University (Kyoto University) researchers examined these fossils closely with the help of modern technology and extensive studies. Investigation revealed that the spinal cord of the middle body of this salamander i.e. Mid-Trunk Vertebra Its structure was completely different from any giant salamander found so far. For this reason, scientists declared it a completely new species and genus and named it – ‘Limnospondylus ajimuensis’ (Limnospondylus ajimuensis).

3.6 feet long giant amphibian

According to researchers, this mysterious creature lived in calm lakes and marshy areas instead of flowing rivers. Scientists believe that this creature would have been about 3.6 feet or 1.1 meters long. This discovery fills the gap in the fossil record of Asia that has been there for the last 20 million years.
