While opposition MPs protested and raised slogans against the government outside the Parliament on Wednesday, a meeting held in the Prime Minister’s Office has become a topic of discussion in the world of politics. This meeting was between NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar, his daughter Supriya Sule and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Sharad Pawar and Supriya Sule met PM Modi in his office. However, Supriya Sule’s meeting with PM Modi lasted only for 3-4 minutes and she came out, after which PM Modi and Sharad Pawar had a one-to-one meeting, which lasted for about 25 minutes.
This meeting is being considered very important amidst the talks of merger of both the factions of NCP and BJP has already given the message of merging both the factions. Although Sharad Pawar did not tell whether he talked to PM Modi on the issue of merger or not, but he definitely informed that they discussed many issues.

He told that during the meeting he presented his stand regarding the demands of the students and the need to take concrete steps on the issue of paper leak. Along with this, he had a wide discussion with PM Modi on various important topics related to agriculture, farmers’ problems, water management and education sector. Sharad Pawar said that the PM has assured to take positive and concrete steps on all these issues.
Demand for immediate intervention on water crisis in Maharashtra
Sharad Pawar also handed over a letter to PM Modi, in which he demanded immediate intervention of PM Modi on the problems and water crisis of farmers of Maharashtra. The letter said that farmers are going through serious crisis due to irregular rains, drought, floods, lack of irrigation and administrative failures. The letter claims that one farmer is committing suicide every three hours in Maharashtra, while in Vidarbha and Marathwada more than 2,700 farmers have committed suicide in a year.
He demanded digital verification in farmer suicide cases and timely sending of direct compensation into the accounts of the families. Along with this, he also demanded independent third-party audit of irrigation and drinking water projects including Jal Jeevan Mission and investigation into alleged corruption and delays. The letter said that farmers need fair prices, transparent system and effective water management more than relief package or loan waiver.
